Colle di Val d'Elsa

Leaving the Lee's apartment we drove the back road through the Tuscan country side to the town where we were spending the night.  It was a beautiful drive.  The Keeffers had found this two bedroom suite in a walled city called Colle di Val d'Elsa.  The old city was build on this very steep ridge line.  Tomtom got us lost in the new city below the old town.  After some serious driving around and around multiple times we finally found our way up to the old city.

Here is a view of a bell tower of the church a couple of doors down from our room.  I am standing on our balcony off of the kitchen.

This is a view of our balcony.  You can see the table, chairs and awning.

After we unloaded our things, I took the car down to a parking lot down the hill a ways.  This is the same bell tower as I am walking back to our suite.

This is the front door to our suite.  Just open the door and up a couple flights of stairs.

This is the street we were on.  There were two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Everything inside was very modern.  It had a full kitchen that was fully furnished. All of this for only 47.50 euros per night per couple!  We loved it.

Another view out of our balcony.  After we got settled into our digs for the next 2 nights, we walked down the street.  This was not a tourist area at all.  But there were cafes, bars, and several pizza places.  At the far end of the street was an elevator that you could take down to the lower city.  On the way back we stopped and got some gelatto.  This is the place!

They even had wonderful doors in this old walled city.

We loved our time here
